Alien In-Line will be providing Grades 1 - 6 students with instruction to improve balance and technique when in-line skating. This is a free program for all students thanks to the support of Thorncliffe's School Council Executive.
Alien In-Line will take place the week of December 11 - 15, 2017.
Acknowledgement of Risk forms came home with your students this week. This form needs to be signed and returned for your child to participate. Forms are due no later than Thursday, December 7.
Alien In-Line provides the skates, elbow, wrist and knee pads. Some helmets will be supplied. It is highly recommended that students bring their own helmets to school for this week.

Mr. Koch's class continues to work through the design process while creating our project for the Beakerhead Ingenuity Challenge. The class voted to address student concerns about organization within the classroom, and design a chair organizer to help solve some of these concerns.
Students were working as mini design teams to create a prototype of some possible chair organizers. Here are some of ideas students created.

Mr. Koch's class was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in the BeakerHead Ingenuity Challenge!!
We have been tasked with identifying problems of design, organization and storage within our school community. We were provided with a box of cardboard to be utilized in the creation of a solution to a problem our class identifies.
We have been working on a number of Design Challenges. These problems allow us to work in teams to solve various design challenges. Here are some images of the various stages of our plans to build a Gingerbread Man Trap.

What a terrific job our grade 3 and 4 students did at our Remembrance Day Assembly.
We demonstrated respect by being active listeners.
Well done to the six grade 4 students in Mr. Koch's class who have been working hard during their weekly Choir Club rehearsals. Your hard work was evident during your performance today!
Have a great weekend!!!

Mr. Koch's class has a spelling test Friday on the French numbers 0-30. Students will be told the number in French, and asked to spell it correctly. Students were given their journals to bring home and review the numbers. Please ensure they are returned each day.
Here is an interactive website called Quizlet that has some online flash cards that you can use to review.
