This morning we began to research Alberta's Grassland Region.  We used a social studies textbook called Our Alberta.  We were introduced to various text features on nonfiction books.
Ask me what a Table of Contents is? and the difference between a Glossary and an Index.

Two things we learned about the Grassland Region are:
- it is usually flat with a few grassy hills
- hoodoos are a unique landform in the SE quadrant of this region.

We did a Science experiment this afternoon.  We had to use a variety of classroom materials to direct light around barriers to light up a target.
Ask me if I was successful.  If I was, what worked?  If not, what would I change next time?

Today in Language Arts we focused on personification.  Personification is giving human qualities to an object or animal.  Eg:  Lightning danced across the sky or A shovel groaned as it loaded gravel.
We will be using personification in our Tanka poetry.  Tanka poems are usually about nature.  They follow a specific syllable rule.  Ask me what the difference between a Tanka and a Limerick is.

Good work to those who prepared for our French Test today on Les Formes.

In math we completed several logic problems.  Ask me what surface area is and how many sides are on a rectangular prism.
