Today we attended the grade 1/2 sharing assembly. They did a fantastic job sharing their learning about weather and this month's virtue of honesty.
We look forward to those students and families who are attending conferences tonight and Friday morning. It's not to late to book if you have yet to do so.
Thanks to Parent Council and all the parents who organized and supplied food and treats for our staff appreciation lunch!!

Today in Language Arts, we continued to learn about persuasive writing. We chose an activity we did this past weekend, and argued that everyone in class should have been doing that. Thanks to those students who were comfortable enough to share their writing with the class.
In Phys. Ed we are beginning a unit on Volleyball. We will learn the skills of passing, setting, hitting and serving.
In Math, ask me why the area of a shape is measured in square units. Why can't we measure shapes using rectangles, triangles or circles?

Today in Language we had several students share their experiences from the previous evening. We then chose a person who shared and "put ourselves in their shoes" for a writing assignment. We had to compose a paragraph about the events they shared, and fill in unknown details using our imagination.
In French / Social we will be using Google Maps to plan two routes. The routes will take us from Hudson Bay to Calgary and Edmonton. We are studying Voyageurs and Metis. Ask me who the Voyageurs and Metis are.
In math we learned a new game called "I Have...Who Has?" This game helps us with memorizing our multiplication facts.
