Math to do! Etc.

Today, Room 5 did a “How Many Ways” Question for the target number 25. This means that students experimented with balanced equations that give a total of 25. As well, students are beginning to challenge themselves to make more interesting equations with multiple terms, operations etc.

One example equation could be:

100 – 25 – 25 – 25 = 17 + 8

As we explore equations we will learn more ways to do this – we don’t know them all yet! See the photo for some examples we have started with.

For homework tonight,

  1. Make any corrections Mr. Whitton asked you to check,
  2. USING PEN, ADD ONE NEW CHALLENGING EQUATION
  3. Share the work with a parent and have them initial it to show they have seen it

Please return the math folder tomorrow to school!

***Reminder to bring in donations for Terry tomorrow and Wednesday! Please make sure you wear runners on Wednesday!
